"A Tribute To Our ‘Ole Friend Jan Jones"　

But I’d bet if he could talk tonight he’d tell us "carry on"

Jan saw more in life that most could ever hope to find

He had perfect vision of the world ‘though Jan was blind

Jan had his own ways of getting by in life

He could do most anything that others do but drive

He never let his handicap drag his spirit down

He was always "up" and smiling and a joy to be around

Jan could move from place to place and seldom needed help

And maybe now Jan can see like everybody else

Jan has truly earned respect of everyone around

I’ve never heard one single soul in Nashville put him down

And all the Nashville pickers that he worked with for so long

He can’t be here on the stage tonight to help us play

But we’ll play his favorite tunes and hope that he’s not far away

I never heard him once complain about his loss of sight

He got involved in things that most would never try

He had the strongest will of any man I’ve ever known

We’re all sure to truly miss...our "Great Ole Friend.. Jan Jones"
